Lu-Tze is not a monk. Not that you'd know it from looking at him. He lives in the monastery of Oi Dong, in the Ramtops, he lives an ascetic life, and he is the only known practitioner of the martial art Déjà fu, in which the hands move in time as well as space, and the opponent can be moved momentarily to a point on their timeline when someone else will hit them.
To hear the Monks of the Order of Wen speak, you'd think he was the greatest of them all. In truth, however, he is merely a Sweeper. But, after all, even the innermost sanctum must be swept.
Lu-Tze is the foremost proponent of, and quite possibly the reason for, Rule One: "Do not act incautiously when confronted by little bald wrinkly smiling men".
Last but not least, give us your character's standard "holy shit, I woke up in a mysterious world for no apparent reason! What the shit is going on!?" intro post.
[Lu-Tze stretches and adjusts his robes. He stands, packs his bedroll, and reaches for his broom.]
[The broom is not there.]
Hm.
[Lu-Tze checks to ensure that he at least still has the Book of Mrs Cosmopilite, and is somewhat relieved to discover it exactly where he left it in his robes.]
[He looks around, sees nobody, and - for lack of anything better to do - sets off. Sooner or later there will be History to observe, or someone to tell him how to get back to Oi Dong.]
