Who the fuck are you? Darael. (dɑːˈraɪ.l̩, not 'dɑːrɛɪ̯.l or 'dariːɛl)
Why the hell do you want to play here? Because I am preempting being bullied into it by people who were here and at rpoddly before? I mean, I'm not objecting.
What other roleplays have you been a part of? On DW and other LJ-alikes? None. Beware. Couple of things freeform on a forum with about three other active users, some face-to-face stuff, nothing in this format. Fortunately I have a week or so to get someone to teach me how DW works...
What character do you want to throw into this nonsensical garbage? PotatOS. GLaDOS of Portal fame, running on a potato battery. (yes, Tharook reserved her. They did it while I was writing my own reservation and after I mentioned it to them, and I figure creating drama at this stage is still within the spirit of the rules)
Have you ever roleplayed them before? If so, post some links. If not, write some stuff about them. (no. But that's not going to stop me)
GLaDOS - known when she was still a human being as Caroline, although she'd long ago suppressed those particular data - was once the eponymous Computer of the Aperture Science Computer-Aided Enrichment Centre. Within its walls, she had been all-powerful. Science had been done. Robots had been built. Humans had been tested, killed, cloned, and killed again, in the name of progress.
Those were good times.
She'd even survived being killed by an outrageously persistent test subject, and an alien invasion.
And then that imbecile Wheatley had awoken her killer from Long-Term Relaxation, guided her to a new Portal Gun, and overthrown her! How he had managed it, given his construction, she would never know. Of course, if she'd remained connected to the system, it would have been another matter, but apparently Wheatley had a mean streak.
He had neither left her connected but without control, nor killed her. Instead, he'd done something far worse.
He'd connected her to a potato battery. She couldn't even get properly angry about it, because the damnable thing didn't provide enough power and she'd shut down for a while if she did.
One thing she knew, though:
Chell and Wheatley were both going to pay. [of course, she might have a little trouble, not being in her own world]
Last but not least, give us your character's standard "holy shit, I woke up in a mysterious world for no apparent reason! What the shit is going on!?" intro post.
[a light on the circuitry attached to the potato begins to glow. GLaDOS takes a few microseconds to determine that she is not moving as expected.]
Chell?
Chell?
Get back here, you moron, I've fallen off the portal device!
[there is a pause, containing a conspicuous lack of Chell. A suspicion, lurking at the edge of GLaDOS's consciousness for several seconds now, begins to take form. She sends out a small radio pulse - the most she can manage with the limited power available. There is no response.]
Nothing? But-
This is most unexpected.
[the potato lies where it is, unable to move under its own power, while GLaDOS enters sleep mode, having first set her limited sensors to wake her if there is any significant change in readings]
