What character do you want to throw into this nonsensical garbage? Captain Benjamin Franklin 'Hawkeye' Pierce from M*A*S*H and YES I'M SORRY HE'S NOT ANWAR
Have you ever roleplayed them before? If so, post some links. If not, write some stuff about them. So Hawkeye is an excellent surgeon who's been drafted to work for a military hospital unit in the Korean War. Which was not exactly his plan; he's very much of the 'war is hell' persuasion, is entirely critical of the whole endeavour, and would give several appendages for the war to be over as soon as possible. He copes with the utter misery of life at the front by hitting indiscriminately on the nurses, drinking heavily and often (he has a still in his tent for this very reason) and mocking everyone and everything. Underneath it, though, he's a good person who takes his hippocratic oath very seriously and cares deeply about his friends. Overneath, he's a wry, cynical, insubordinate little shit who keeps the camp laughing.
Last but not least, give us your character's standard "holy shit, I woke up in a mysterious world for no apparent reason! What the shit is going on!?" intro post. [Rubbing his head and looking around]
Wow, last night must've been a doozie. Toto, I don't think we're in Korea any more. Where the hell am I? This definitely isn't the 4077th. But looking on the bright side, this definitely isn't the 4077th.
I mean, my professional medical opinion, Captain Pierce, is that you've definitely gone utterly off the deep end. It was bound to happen sooner or later. May as well enjoy it while it lasts.

Well, let's go see what insanity's got to offer. Can't be worse than being sane was.
