What character do you want to throw into this nonsensical garbage? Tsukishiro, from Nightmare Inspector, a manga nobody's heard about.

Tsukishiro is a Baku, a dream eater, neither living or dead. The only purpose of his existence is to eat nightmares. His powers include putting the subject to sleep so they may have their nightmare, and entering the dream itself in order to consume the nightmare itself. Of course, that'd be boring if he just took whatever run-of-the-mill nightmares boring human brains could cook up, so when he finds a promising nightmare, he likes to play a game with it. He'll make it worse rather than better, twisting the strings that make up the nightmare and sending its victim into deep despair until he finally, finally decides that it's ready to eat. He has several methods by which he does this, but most include digging the victim deeper into the insecurities that birthed their nightmare.
Nice guy. Fun at parties. Good with kids.
Last but not least, give us your character's standard "holy shit, I woke up in a mysterious world for no apparent reason! What the shit is going on!?" intro post.
Well, this is inconvenient.
I was just on my way to my next meal, you know. Miyuki's dream was lovely, just lovely, and almost ripe! I don't even know where I am anymore. Does the bus run through here?
