Who the fuck are you? Not Tolkien, because if I was I would not only have more money and be a dude but also be pretty dead and be unable to app. Unless they have internet in the afterlife, I dunno. Maybe that's where my inability to anon comes from.
Why the hell do you want to play here? Because there are never enough dwarves. And someone needs to call people that are way taller than him "lass" and "lad".
What other roleplays have you been a part of? I've been RPing on LJ and DW for seven years now. A lot.
What character do you want to throw into this nonsensical garbage? Gimli who was to young to be in the Hobbit and thus only is of LotR fame.
Have you ever roleplayed them before? If so, post some links. If not, write some stuff about them.
Okay so there once was a wee bb dwarf born in Ered Luin. He grew up and when his - shit like great-great-great-granduncles great-grand-son went to win back the homeland and took among others his dad with him he was still a wee bb 62 years and too young to come with the group. What can I say, the whole thing worked even if some idiots died for it, so thing is he grew up on stories not only of how elves suck and orcs are cretin but also of that and while not living in exile. Okay bb is growing up fast forward to the bb dwarf being a proper adult and whoop whoop the one ring showing up.
So Elrond who is kind of the adult of this canon summons all the people to a council to decide what the fuck to do with that.
Guess what, the elves and the dwarves won't let each other take care of it because for whatever reason (I dunno, ages of history or something). How unexpected. In the end, a couple of people volunteer for a suicide mission to get rid of this ring, Gimli among them. They encounter orcs and shit and fight and come through Khazad-dûm on the way and finally there is a final fight and everything is good.
...Not sure if the parentals think so though, because through all of this Gimli came from sharing all the ideas that his people have about elves to really liking the elf that was with their group, and the other way around. And they kind of elope and travel the world together and rebuild shit together and in the end Gimli is the first dwarf ever to go West. It's an amazing and moving character development, okay.
Just generally Gimli has a pretty massive character development arc. He starts out as this grim and grouchy bundle of prejudice, vengeance and contempt and without an actual sense of humour (half of that is just him being very much a dwarf), and a good number of those things lighten up over the course of the story (most importantly he learns to respect and trust other races and opens up some). He still stays grouchy, and his positive traits never change - he's loyal, reliable, steadfast and brave, and also proud. And because I don't want to miss out on the development he's taken from post-lotr.
Okay I rambled, sorry about that.
Last but not least, give us your character's standard "holy shit, I woke up in a mysterious world for no apparent reason! What the shit is going on!?" intro post.
[So it looks like he's lost his travel company. And this was not what he expected to find when they entered the forest, at all. That there would be the ruins of a town with the strangest architecture that he has ever seen in the middle of it...
His axe is already in his hand when he enters it, though he'll have to dismount to properly fight. Actually let him do the dismounting now. He's always felt safer on his feet than on ponyback. Did Legolas end up here as well? He really hopes so, he'd rather have him by his side now - question is, should he call out for him in this place? It might alert more beings than the elf to his presence... And so he'll try to be as sneaky as a dwarf can be (that is, not very). Legolas's elven ears should hear him anyway.]
